Halloween Isn't Just for Kids...anymore!!

On October 26 in the dead of night, venture (if you dare) into Downtown Orillia and experience all things that go bump in the night. You will be lead through Haunted Halloween tours at the Orillia Museum of Art and History and The Orillia Opera House and will continue throughout frightful spaces in Downtown Orillia. This year promises to be even spookier than last year so get your tickets early before they sell out! Here is what's planned for this year's event. 

* While on the Nightmare on Peter Street Tour at the Orillia Museum of Art and History you will be transformed by a ghoulsome make-up artist in time for the end of night costume party + be led into the darkness of the Orillia Museum of Art and History's basement + endure their creepy Chainsaw Hospital haunted house + pose in their creepy turn-of-the-century jail cells for an eerie Halloween photo + make your way into their clock tower and hear undisclosed stories of the postmaster who abided there years ago.

* At the Phantom of the Orillia Opera House tour you will be met with apparitions who will tell you their chilling stories of life on the inside + be lead through their inhabited spaces + catch classic horror films playing throughout the night.

- Tours will also consist of participating downtown businesses, restaurants and pubs who will offer interactive (and spooky) Haunting features, Halloween themed food + spirits. Look for the Jack-o'-Lanterns in their windows and pop in and trick-or-treat. 

- Dress up in your Best Halloween Costume and make your way into the Orillia Public Library to have your frightful picture captured on their new state-of-the-art green screen from 4:00-7:30 pm. $5/picture. All ages welcomed.

* Passports will be given to all tour participants to complete throughout the course of the night so be sure to hit all the haunted locations for a chance to win the grand prize at the end of the evening.

- The Hocus Pocus doesn't end there! End your night at the The Haunting's End of Night Costume Party at the Royal Canadian Legion. Masquerade and dance to Halloween tunes with a LIVE DJ + DRESS UP in your BEST HALLOWEEN COSTUME for a chance to win bragging rights + BEST COSTUME PRIZE!!  Costume party will begin at 9 pm - 1 am. Everyone welcome but must be legal drinking age-19+. 

                                            OTHER FRIGHTENING DETAILS

* Four tours will be offered over the course of the night beginning at 6, 7, 8 & 9 pm. Groups will consist of 20 participants and the complete tour will take an hour and a half in total.  

* Participants will begin their night on the Nightmare on Peter Street tour at the Orillia Museum of Art & History for 6 pm. From there, participants will troll the street toward the Orillia Opera House where they will embark on a spine-chilling Phantom of the Opera House Tour for 6:45 pm. The final tour will end at the Orillia Opera House at 10:30 pm.

* Tickets are $15 and include all of the above. Tickets can be purchased at the Downtown Orillia Management Board office located at 33 Mississaga Street West or online at https://downtownorillia.ticketleap.com/the-haunting2/. Please note a $1.98 service charge will be applied if purchasing online. 

* To purchase tour tickets you must be 16+.

- Didn't get a ticket in time? All sold out? Don't fret! Features with a star * next to them are ticketed events but all other features are open to everyone so please come and enjoy the night with us.
